Sunday School is a program for all ages from preschool to adult. It runs from mid-September until Memorial Day. Sunday School begins at 9:15 a.m. each Sunday in the church’s Fellowship Hall. Students of all ages begin with songs and prayer led by Pastor Scott Hoffman. Then, at 9:30 a.m. everyone reports to their age-appropriate classes.
This fall the Christian Education committee starts a program that offers a continental breakfast for those attending Sunday School. Muffins, cereal, fruit, juice, and milk will be provided from 9 to 9:30 a.m.
Children in the preschool through grade five classes use the same program called Grow! Proclaim! Serve! We have three classes available for children: preschool, kindergarten through grade two, and grades three through five. The activities in their lessons are centered on a bible story complimented with arts and crafts, skits, and other activities. The middle school class uses the curriculum provided by Feasting on the Word. These lessons help the students think about and grow in their faith. A similar approach is used with the high school class with a curriculum or program that is relevant to their lives and experiences.
The Adult Sunday School program is led by a rotating team of teachers. The team identifies topics for study which have included bible based themes like “turning points” in the lives of biblical characters, science and the bible, using spiritual gifts, and stewardship.
